Salt # 1
Salt # 1, shot in 2016 and currently in post-production, takes place in Jerusalem, where Ehud guides a tour of Nigerian pilgrims in holy sites and along the Via Dolorosa. These serve as a backdrop for lively situations that veer between spirituality and devotion on the one hand and the chaotic setting of an ancient city steeped in history, tensions and multi-culturalism on the other. The episode combines a hand-held camera, which further highlights this dizzying mixture.

The “Salt” trilogy was shot in Israel during 2014–16, with episodes loosely connected through Ehud Harpaz, the artist’s father, in various functions: in a folk dance gathering, as a veteran paratrooper and as a tour guide. Salt is inherently present in all three, whether literally or metaphorically. The films can be shown separately or as an edited sequence.
